A 15-needle single-head still stitches one garment at a time. More needle positions mainly let the operator keep more colors or specialty threads loaded and avoid manual rethreading. Head count is the specification that multiplies identical garments per cycle.
The tool therefore gives a convenience class, not a claim that every 11-color design requires a 15-needle machine. Thread mapping, repeated colors and workflow can change the practical need.

Will 15 needles stitch 15 times faster than one needle?
No. Needle count is not head count. A single-head 15-needle machine still completes one garment per cycle.
Why reserve needle positions?
Shops sometimes keep common brand colors, bobbin/utility choices or specialty threads loaded to reduce rethreading. If you do not, set reserved positions to zero.
Does needle count determine cap quality?
No. Cap frame/driver design, sewing arm geometry, digitizing, setup and operator practice are separate factors.
