How many embroidery heads do I need?
Embroidery Head Count Calculator
Estimate the minimum synchronized embroidery head count needed to clear a same-design order before a deadline.
Use case
Size head count from a deadline, not from ambition.
This tool is for a repeated same-design order: uniforms, team polos, branded hats or a recurring company program. It checks 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 12 heads against the entered production window and rejects/rework allowance.
If the operator becomes the bottleneck first, the result says so. That is the important distinction missing from simple “quantity ÷ heads” math.
FAQ
Common questions
Does more heads always shorten the order?
Only when every head can be loaded and operators can keep them supplied. Small partial batches and slow hooping can erase much of the theoretical gain.
Does this choose a specific machine model?
No. It chooses a modeled head count. Machine field, needle count, cap system, support and other specifications still need separate validation.
Can I use this for personalized names?
Be cautious. Synchronized heads are strongest when they stitch the same design. Personalization and frequent design changes can favor independent single-head machines.
